- I look for good books with good messages to read to my grandkids - medieval are my favorite genre because kids really respond to stories of princes & kings, and quests. I stumbled upon the Prince Martin series and what a nice surprise! My grandkids love the books. I feel they are learning good lessons. The rhyming cadence in the book was a surprise, as well as the bigger vocabulary. We've had to look a few medieval words up , but that's the fun of it. It's good to stretch little minds. This is a good fit for my grandkids ages 5-9.
